Club Activities
Memberships
I like joining into social groups and making projects for groups. This kind of things are improving my ability of team working, leadership, responsibility and etc. Therefore, since I started to the university, I have been always interested in social groups and communities. I listed the clubs and communities blow which I was interested:
- JCI Candidate Member, Ankara Office
- TOBB ETU Industry and Productivity Club, President
- TOBB ETU Productivity Club, Vice President
- Represantative Student of TOBB ETU Industrial Engineering Students
- Represantative of Meeting of Turkey Industrial Engineering Students (TEMOB)
- Represantative of Ankara Industrial Engineering Platform (Ankara EM)
- Leader of the 8th Ankara EM project
All of these memberships gave me a good experience in university years. In social clubs, projects and organisations are made by project team. Therefore team members learn, efficient team working, leadership, scheduling and planning in the projects.
TOBB ETU Productivity Club & TOBB ETU Industry and Productivity Club
In 2006, it was first year in the university and I was in preparation class, Elvan Sakanci, Sabri Kurtoglu, I and some of our friends who had got same thought with us decided to organize a student club which was about industrial engineering. Then, we made research about universities' student clubs and made meeting with their managements. We learned establishment phase of student clubs from them. In the end of those researching stage, we organized TOBB ETU Productivity Club.
From 2006 to 2008 I worked for TOBB ETU Productivity Club as the vice president. In that period, we made lots of projects and organisations. For example we have organized, technical visits to companies, seminars, symposiums, competetions and big organisations. Our number of member has reached nearly 200.
In 2008, owing to force of department of industrial engineering, we had to change the name of the club. From that time, new name was TOBB ETU Industry and Productivity Club. Same members, same teams, same targets and same activities but new name... In same year, we made a big project which had $ 30,000 budget. 8th Ankara EM...
Ankara Industrial Engineering Congress one of the biggest student organisation in Turkey is organized by one of the university student club in Ankara every year. Nearly 1000 industrial engineering students from lots of universities join this event every year. The organisation continues for two days. In those days, specialists (engineers, proffesors, ministers, presidents etc ...) make speeches in spesific topics. Also there are coctails, dinners, shows, games and lots of things to entertainment. 8th Ankara Industrial Engineering Congress was organized by our club in February 2008. Its budget was $ 20.000. We worked with 50 - person team in 4-5 months to make the organisation better. I was the leader of the team. From this leadership, I learned lots of things, about organisations, system engineering, team working...
The organisation topic was "Servis Sector From eye of Industrial Engineering." There were lots of speakers from service sector such as, banks, telecommunication companies, millitaries, healthcare sectors, informaiton technology companies, media companies... Students were very pleased for the interesting topic, and they appreciated it.
